Nat Castañeda is a journalist and interdisciplinary visual artist based in Denmark, specializing in storytelling through video, photography, and collage.
Castañeda works at The Associated Press and has contributed to several high-profile projects, including coverage of global migration and the civil war in Yemen, which earned the Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting in 2018, and Adrift, which has been awarded a Webby, an Online Journalism Award, and recently won an Emmy Award.
In her art practice, Castañeda explores the intersection of technology and personal narratives, focusing on themes of intimacy and the permanence of the historical record. Her video and mixed media work have been exhibited at notable venues, including The High Line, El Museo del Barrio, and Electronic Arts Intermix.
She holds an MFA from the School of Visual Arts and has delivered lectures and workshops at institutions such as Bard College, Parsons The New School, and Hunter College.
